Situated near the River Thames in Battersea, Constance Court is a residential development consisting of 51 new-build one- and two-bedroom apartments, including 12 social housing units. The homes are arranged around a central courtyard and dedicated play areas. Construction on this project was logistically demanding due to the highly enclosed nature of the plot on a major urban thoroughfare. To overcome these constraints, a ‘top-down’ construction methodology was deployed. This technique allowed the basement excavation to begin immediately after the ground floor slab was poured, proceeding simultaneously with the construction of the upper storeys. This approach significantly enhanced the efficiency of the construction programme and minimised local disruption.
