Lumiere is a multi-award-winning development of 59 high-specification apartments constructed around the 1930s Granada Cinema, featuring a restored Grade II listed auditorium designed by Theodore Komisarjevsky. Situated on St John’s Hill, the project delivers a contemporary architectural landmark with extensive views across London. The construction was highly complex, constrained by a major road and its proximity to Clapham Junction station. Engineering highlights included adding two storeys above the listed theatre, achieved via construction over a 36-metre clear span with no intermediate supports. To honour its cinematic heritage, the development was named after the Lumière brothers and features a private cinema room for residents.
