Located on Wellington Road, at the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City, this 1878 landmark previously served as a merchants’ atelier, law college, and magistrates’ court. Following an extensive design process, the building was transformed into a 98-suite boutique hotel set over six storeys. The development retained the historic listed façade while introducing a complex steel infrastructure to support additional modern plant and machinery. The finished interiors deliver understated luxury that complements the original Victorian architectural details. Delivery was managed by in-house teams working alongside specialist heritage consultants to restore the historic aspects to their original standards. Reflecting its architectural and commercial merits, the scheme was named a finalist for Commercial Property of the Year in the London Construction Awards 2025.
